Andy Kucich is a truly spirited outdoorsman who has pursued an extraordinary path in life. He was born in Germany and grew up in the Black Forest, having always access to great nature. After earning a degree in mechanical engineering and working in corporate world he discovered and explored the forests, Taiga and Tundra of the northern hemisphere and was immediately fascinated and absorbed by the intensity of these ecosystems. Eventually he moved to Alaska and became a part owner of a small guiding business.  Alaska Backcountry Touring LLC is now solely owned and operated by Andy. Since 1998 he has been exploring Alaska and in particular it’s most northern mountains, the Brooks Range. With great passion he is leading and educating travelers from all countries on those expeditions.
