Infos and details

If you are interested in one of our trips, please get in contact with us and we send you a more detailed itinerary, farther information about the trip and the personal gear you should bring. Included in the price of a trip are all the air fares from and back to Fairbanks, all transfers and overnights, water crafts, live vest, waterproof dry bags, boating and safety equipment. Non wilderness accommodation will be at the GoNorth Travel Center in Fairbanks. We provide all the camping and cooking gear and of course all meals in the wilderness. An experienced and skilled guide will lead the trip. Not included are personal tent, sleeping bag and sleeping pad. Your personal tent should be a lightweight, quality brand three season tent. We also recommend for the river trips a sleeping bag with synthetic fill and a comfort rating of at least 20 degrees Fahrenheit. If you want to bring a down bag, it is smart to have a waterproof compression bag for it. We use ALLY boats, Norwegian made folding canoes on our trips. These reliable and well built boats perform great in moderate whitewater, even with a heavy load.

Alaska’s weather

Alaska’s interior has a dry climate. You can expect warm and dry weather for a longer period of time during the month of June and July. We usually experience more precipitation in late summer, rain can last in August up to several days and the temperatures cool off. The weather in Alaska’s arctic and sub arctic is different and variable, temperatures are cooler. You have to be prepared for anything at any time during the summer month. June has shown to be tricky. Rainy and windy weather with snow in higher elevation are not uncommon, especially north of the arctic divide. July tend to be the most stable month, where temperatures can exceed 70 degrees. Precipitation usually increases towards the middle and the end of August, with temperatures ranging from 30s to 50s.
